Then, I saw this book in Anthropology a few weeks back. I love the books and dishes and housewares there, most things there are sooo not in my budget! The great thing about the books is that I can usually find them at the library. Sure enough, they had this one. It is so cool! Quirky, but very cool and full of some really great ideas. I have a whole list of things that I want to make out of it. I have to Google the amounts and the temps since it is European, but I don't care. So besides the recipes and fun pictures, there just so happened to be instructions for making a Union Jack flag. I didn't follow them exactly, but I did use the picture as a guide.
I always make pillow covers envelope style, so I just had to make sure I got my design in the right spot so that it would be centered when on the pillow and then do all the sewing of the design before folding and sewing the "envelope". I did not finish the edges of the red fabric, there just isn't time for fussy and precise right now. I just wanted to have some fun. We'll see how it holds up.
I don't want to be accused of being unpatriotic, so I made an American version too. I had a lot of fun with these and they were easy to whip up!
My model had some fun too.
Linking up with Elizabeth today.
Adorable! Love them, Sharron!
