Yarn Along

I have started my first sweater with sleeves.  I'm really excited!  I'm hoping to give it to Kate for Christmas or her birthday and to knit some matching leg warmers too.  Since that knitting has to be done in secret, I've been trying to still have some little project to take to ballet classes and in the car.

I saw these very simple hand warmers in a Martha Stewart magazine last January.  There are several things in that issue that I'd like to make and they are all pretty simple.  This one was perfect for using up some yarn leftover from other projects.

Now Kate has some hand warmers "like Callie".  In fact, she wanted Callie to wear hers while she was taking Kate's picture.

I'm reading a little bit of Charlotte Mason on the Kindle and Beauty and the Beast (notice the Kindle version is free) with the girls.  That might be my favorite fairy tale that we have read so far.  It might also be one of the few movies that kept sort of close to the book.  Kate has never seen it, so when we are finished reading it we will get the movie and watch.

  1. The hand warmers are adorable! I am sure Kate is very pleased!

You're very good about always having something to read that is helpful, not just for pleasure. It is inspiring. :)

  2. Oh! I love free! Knitting in secret is so hard. I don't even try, I just can get away with not saying who it is for. :) Awesome hand warmers! It is the season!

    1. This secret thing is hard! With just two of them and it being her favorite color, I don't think I could get away with it, but I may just give up on the secret keeping. It will never get done at this rate!
