Yarn Along
I've been working on these hand warmers for awhile. The pattern is from www.purlbee.com. I love that website! So many free patterns for sewing and knitting.
The people at ballet probably think I'm the slowest knitter ever. There is a little girl who watches me and every week I'm still working on the same thing. It's because I only work on them at ballet, so pretty much just twice a week. Anyway, I finished the first one last week and the second one is coming along nicely.
I'm not reading much right now. I can't seem to concentrate on the various things I've started. Several non-fiction things that I just can't get excited about.
I am anxious to start the book I got from the library for our up coming trip South though. It's called Cold Sassy Tree. I don't know anything about it, but the reviews on the back say it's "better than To Kill A Mockingbird" and and compare it's quality to Gone With the Wind, so I have high hopes.
I had accidentally chosen southern novels to read the last few times we went to Mississippi and when I realized it I decided it would be fun to make it a tradition.
I also have high hopes of working on Kate's sweater a lot! I decided I was going to have to risk her seeing it because I would never get it done trying to hide it. She asked about it and I said it was "something for somebody" and not to ask anymore questions. There were several people in the room and she actually did drop the topic, so I don't think she suspects it is for her. Surprise or not, she'll get it for Christmas or her birthday, I hope.

I like that website, I love their simple patterns but the colors they use are striking and elegant. I think your ballet people will be envious when you are wearing hand knit items :)
ReplyDeleteI love southern novels. Don't think I would like to live there, but the novels? LOVE. All the great south without the humidity!
