A Tent: "With no cockroaches"

I've wanted to build a little tent inside for the longest time.  It was one of those things I kept thinking we would do, but never got around to.

When I read this post about encouraging a young reader, I knew I couldn't put it off any longer.  With Cameron's help, this is what I came up with.  We tried to make a tee pee, but we didn't have enough of the right sized poles/sticks to make that work.  I didn't let myself get hung up on the fact that I didn't have enough matching fabric or that it didn't look "Pinterest perfect" {as Callie likes to say}.  Kate loves it and that's all that matters.

Last night she wanted to sleep in it.  She was all settled in and she said, "This tent is clean and not buggy with spiders and raccoons and no cockroaches!"  {We went camping last weekend with lots of critters}

Well thank God there are no cockroaches in her new reading tent!!! {there really aren't enough exclamation points for that sentence!}

The best part about this set up is that Cameron or I can actually fit in it to read with Kate and that probably would not have been the case in a tee pee that would actually fit in the room.
